Must Listens-Unsainted, Birth Of The Cruel, Nero Forte, Orphan

  1. Unsainted 10/10 Thrash metal, the vintage Slipknot, this one with a central focus of being tainted with external mistreatment causing one to more easily transition to a colder person
  2. Birth Of The Cruel 10/10 Similar to the last one, not only a kick-ass track, but also on the topic of the “full-circle” nature of negativity, the butterfly effect of how we treat eachother as humans
  3. Nero Forte 10/10 This song illustrates depression in an abstract way, Nero (Roman Emperor responsible for his own destruction) Forte (a skillset unique to you) well worth the listen
  4. Critical Darling 5/10 I enjoyed the verses on this track, however the chorus struck me as drawn out and not captivating enough
  5. A Liar’s Funeral 6/10 A slow versed song offset with a heavier chorus, reminisent of songs like “Snuff” or “The Devil In I”, sadly, it is not nearly as enthralling or enjoyable as either of these two earlier tracks
  6. Red Flag 6/10 The thrash is back with this track, fast paced heavy verses like the earlier days of Slipknot, chorus was not overtly impressive
  7. Spiders 8/10 The “spiders” song to me is a metaphor for conflicting thoughts, every positive thought is met with a negative one (at least for those who fight with depression) and the message is promoting being more proactive rather than hypernanlyzing into immobility
  8. Orphan 10/10 Similar to the classic “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath, this song represents those who feel their good intentions have been spat at for the last time and thus, a hero transitions into a villain
  9. My Pain 3/10 this song has an extremely long intro with not much going on to captivate one’s attention, very slow song that is sadly not very enthralling
  10. Not Long For This World 6/10 This song illustrates those who feel like a shell of a person, living on borrowed time, just tapped out, not all that impressive overall, though as the song progresses it gets better like an incline
  11. Solway Firth 7/10 An aggressive, thrashing song, vintage Slipknot, the thesis here is not living in the past, but also a final middle finger for someone who betrayed you before you erase them from your mind

7.7/10
